Stephen Amell talks Arrow Season 6 Approach

Stephen Amell Says Arrow Season 6 "Hits The Ground Running".

The fifth season of CW's Arrow was as a whole an improvement on the disappointment that was the show's lackluster and overall disappointing fourth season. Season five saw the show return to its "roots" and owes its overall success to the compelling story telling as well as (honestly, mostly) the villainy of the season's big bad Adrian Chase/Prometheus, played terrifically by Josh Segarra and gave us an antagonist that was as compelling and enjoyable as Manu Bennett's Slade Wilson/Deathstroke.

Arrow ended season 5 with a big bang     (quite literally a big bang!!!) as Prometheus blew up the island of Lian Yu with Team Arrow still stranded on it and as Oliver stood and watched helplessly, we all wondered what had become the fate of those on the island.

The incredible cliffhanger rounded what was a season that took its time with its story (not complaining though) and left all of us speculating and wondering what the direction of season 6 will be, starting with the ramifications of the Lian Yu explosion.

According to Stephen Amell,  Arrow season 6 will build off of the momentum season 5 generated up until its very last scene. However, that doesn't mean the season story arc will be rushed.
As Amell Explains
"Feels like We hit the ground running. It feels like from the Season 5 momentum - feels like when we start with 601...nothing has made my jaw drop in the first three scripts that I've read; but concurrently, they're really tight, and they're really moving the story forward. And I feel like we're using the license that we've earned over five seasons to play it slow with some stories."
Some Arrow fans will be nervous to hear that, as it could suggest either a well-done slow-burn execution of storyline, or a meandering one; Arrow has fallen into both formats, in the past.
Meanwhile, while season 6 is taking its time to unfold, some fans will surely remember that this new season is, in some ways, still finishing off the story arc form season 5, which took its sweet time to unfold, as well.
